In a world caught in a web of endless pain, brokenness, and quiet desperation, it is easy for the vulnerable to feel entirely forgotten. But we believe that no heart is too far out of reach for the love of God.

Our beginning

A burning desire to go to the margins

Encounter Love Ministries began on September 13, 2013 in Benin City, Nigeria with a singular, burning desire: to spread the relentless, transformative love of Jesus Christ around the world.

We are not just bystanders in a hurting world. We are hands-on believers committed to making an actionable, tangible difference. Our mission is to go directly to the margins—reaching into the darkest corners to ensure that those who are suffering, lonely, or cast aside can truly feel the warm, restorative embrace of the Father.

This is the driving force behind everything that we do. We believe that love is a verb. We put our faith into action through targeted outreaches designed to spread the gospel and bring hope. The example of our Lord Jesus is that which we follow. These are the ways through which we spread the fragrance of Christ’s Love:

Campus Ministries

Reaching out and establishing ministry on campuses and schools. Our desire to ensure the spread of the message of God’s love to the younger generation pushes us to reach them in campuses, primary and secondary schools etc. One of our oldest outreaches to schools is called Gospel Goes To School, which began in 2018 and since then has reached over 10 schools, teaching them every Friday in the Okoafor-Badagry axis, Lagos State. We have other active campus outreaches in other schools in Lagos State, Ekiti and Osun states in Nigeria. If Jesus caught his disciples young, we ought to do same…

Visiting the Fatherless

When we began in 2013, the first place we went to was the Edo Orphanage in Benin City. We visited the children there, carried the beautiful young babies and ministered to them. We got many children filled with the Holy Ghost and they were terribly excited hearing about the Love of Jesus. Their eyes lit up with warmth was totally unforgettable. We had our little support then and left, but that visit made us know that wasn’t going to be the end but the beginning of a journey to keep bringing joy, mentorship, and vital resources to children in orphanages.

Remembering the Prisoner

It is easy to be forgotten behind bars even by relatives and loved ones, and that’s why our outreach to prisons is necessary. We visit prisons to share the message of spiritual freedom, redemption, and unconditional love. The hearts that receive the gospel though physically bound are forever free in Christ Jesus.

Standing with the Persecuted

Jesus said in John 15:18: If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. Darkness is always threatened by the light. And we have a responsibility as believers not to ignore the suffering of our persecuted brethren. As they stand strong in their faith in these trying times, we ought to pray and stand with them. This is how we support and comfort brothers and sisters suffering for their faith: we send relief to them in items of personal care, food, clothes etc. Showing up in these trying times cannot erase the impact of the pain and hurt, but it can remind them that He isn’t far, and He’s close to the brokenhearted.

Clothing the Naked

Jesus told his disciples that as long as they clothe any of these little ones they have done it to him. As we carry the message of God’s saving grace, it’s a constant thing that we meet and interact with those who have very little clothing or are inappropriately clothed, hence the need for this initiative. We are graciously open to receiving clothing items in good condition which we will spread to those who are in dire need of it.

Strengthening the Weak

Standing as a shield and support system for the vulnerable, the sick, and the marginalized. From helping widows, to those who may be caught up in different situations that leave them vulnerable or weak. The situations are varied and our team works to verify individual situations and know how we can come in to render possible assistance.

Read Our Stories

Over the years we have moments where we have been stretched financially and in some cases unable to help because of limited resources. Providing food support, collecting and receiving clothing items for kids, and the smiles on the faces of people assures us that we are doing the Father’s bidding. Many of which can’t be captured by the lens of a camera.
